Ever since I was 18, I wanted to travel to Amsterdam, and immerse myself in the culture. I wanted to experience the legality of smoking and eating of the Cannabis cakes, whilst witnessing the red light district.

When I arrived, I stayed at a hostel in the Centre of Amsterdam, a 2-minute walk from the red light district. There are many sex shops in Amsterdam, quite openly selling sex toys etc, and pubs along the red light district selling Cannabis, where you can buy “weed cakes”. Each cake comes with a list of warnings on how strong they are, as well as how much they advise you to eat.

I purchased a cake, but ate quite a lot of it, and started to feel uneasy in the hostel. Even though this was my reaction; I would still recommend anyone gong to Amsterdam, to get involved in eating these weed cakes…
