SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Nine suspects are behind bars and three are at large after a six-month narcotics investigation involving undercover operations.
According to Shelby County Drug task Force Lt. Clay Hammac, the operations targets were suppliers and dealers of cocaine, crack cocaine, prescription drugs and marijuana.
Nine suspects were arrested Thursday evening in Alabaster. Three targets are at large, Hammac says.
“This is the result of tireless investigative hours and is a true victory for the residents of West Shelby County,” Hammac said. “These individuals were linked to one of the major supply chains of crack cocaine in West Shelby County, and we are pleased to put them out of business.”
