TEXAS (US Customs and Border Protection): CBP seizes $1 million in narcotics at port of entry

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the World Trade Bridge discovered over $1 million in alleged marijuana in a commercial shipment of polyethylene.

“This was an excellent interception by our CBP officers and a great example of the layered enforcement implemented by CBP,” said Port Director Gregory Alvarez, Laredo Port of Entry. “This seizure demonstrates how the officers’ training, utilization of technology and CBP canines led to the discovery of this hard narcotic.”

The seizure occurred at World Trade Bridge on Nov. 30, when a CBP officer referred a tractor-trailer hauling a commercial shipment of polyethylene for a non-intrusive inspection.
