Two Britons are being held by the Spanish authorities after police discovered a haul of synthetic drugs « 80 times stronger than cannabis ».
The drugs were found hidden inside sacks of socks in Alicante, south-east Spain, The Local reported.
It is understood that the drugs were discovered following a major operation launched by Spanish police into drug trafficking at Alicante airport last month.
One person was arrested at a bar popular among Britons at El Campello, just outside Alicante.
