LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized a significant amount of alleged narcotics with a combined street value of over $9.7 million dollars during three separate incidents.
According to CBP officials the first incident happened on Friday September 8th at the Lincoln Juarez Bridge when a CBP officer referred a 2012 Chevrolet to secondary inspection.
The vehicle was driven by a 28-year-old man who was a Mexican citizen from El Mante Mexico.
When agents searched the vehicle they found a total of 10 packages hidden within the vehicle, allegedly containing a total of 26 pounds of cocaine. The narcotics had an estimated street value of $199,240.
The second seizure happened on Friday, September 8th at the Lincoln Juarez Bridge when a CBP officer referred a 1999 Ford Pickup driving by a 30-year-old man from Nuevo Leon Mexico for Secondary inspection.
