Le fondateur de l’ancien cartel de Guadalajara, Rafael Caro Quintero, en fuite, a été inculpé jeudi par la justice américaine pour trafic de drogue et meurtres, notamment celui d’un agent de l’agence américaine de lutte contre la drogue (DEA).

Parallèlement, la DEA et la police fédérale (FBI) ont placé « Rafa » sur la liste des dix personnes les plus recherchées avec, à la clef, 20 millions de dollars de récompense pour tout indice qui mènerait à son interpellation.

Le trafiquant présumé, parfois appelé « le Narco des narcos », a déjà été condamné par la justice mexicaine pour son implication dans la mort d’Enrique Camarena, un agent de la Drug Enforcement Agency, enlevé, torturé et assassiné en 1985 au Mexique.
