
NOGALES – Federal authorities at the Port of Nogales seized hard drugs in two separate incidents on Wednesday.
A 50-year-old Nogales, Sonora man was stopped Wednesday afternoon, after a drug-sniffing dog alerted to the man’s Ford SUV.
Inside the vehicle, Customs and Border Protection officers said they found 16 pounds of cocaine concealed in the vehicle’s rear quarter panel.
In another incident Wednesday evening, officers said a 40-year-old man from Mesa was stopped in his Mazda sedan, after a CBP canine alerted to his vehicle.
Officers said they found nearly 11 pounds of heroin, and more than 45 pounds of methamphetamine.
