TAMPA, Fla. – An indictment charging eight members of a drug trafficking organization with offenses related to the distribution of cocaine and heroin was unsealed today. (See chart for details).
According to court records, this investigation targeted illegal drug traffickers operating an open-air drug market in the Robles Park Housing Community in Tampa. During the course of the investigation, law enforcement officers seized approximately 2.5 kilograms of cocaine and approximately $52,000.

TOPEKA, KAN. â A Kansas man was sentenced Wednesday to six years in federal prison for heroin trafficking.
Terrance Wills, 42, Kansas City, Kan., pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute heroin. In his plea, Wills admitted he met two other men, who had transported the heroin from Texas, at a rest area near Topeka. Investigators had been following the load â almost five pounds of heroin — since the couriers were stopped on Highway 54 near Meade, Kan.

SOUTH BEND, Ind.-J. Bell, Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent in Charge, Chicago Division, and United States Attorney Thomas L. Kirsch II announced Jamar Sims, age 27, of South Bend, Indiana, was sentenced by United States District Court Chief Judge Jon E. DeGuilio upon his plea of guilty to distribution of methamphetamine.
Mr. Sims was sentenced to 70 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

SAN FRANCISCO â A complaint was unsealed today in San Jose alleging that Mario Orozco and Teodoro Ayon-Ramos distributed methamphetamine, announced United States Attorney David L. Anderson and Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent in Charge Daniel C. Comeaux. Both defendants were arrested at their residences, one in San Jose and the other in Los Banos, on August 11, 2020.

ALBANY, N.Y. – Mario Figueroa-Portalatin, age 41, of Troy, New York, pled guilty today to conspiring to distribute 10 kilograms of heroin.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Grant C. Jaquith; Special Agent in Charge Ray Donovan, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), New York Division; and Rensselaer County Sheriff Pat Russo.
PORTLAND, Ore. –Â Â A former nurse from Vancouver, Washington was sentenced to federal prison today for conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute controlled substances.
Rene Elene Griffin Nunn, 60, was sentenced to eight months in prison and 3 yearsâ supervised release. At the time of the offense, Nunn was a registered nurse at Adventist Medical Center in Portland.

ST. LOUIS â Bruce Edward Johnson, 27, of St. Louis, was sentenced to 36 months in prison. Johnson was involved in a conspiracy to distribute more than 400 grams of fentanyl centered in the Clinton-Peabody housing complex on the near south side of the City of St. Louis.
