Paraguayan police officers accused of removing red notice from SebastiĂĄn Marsetâs wifeâs criminal record.
The National Police appointed commissioner Julio Roberto Maldonado as the new head of Interpol (International Police) in Paraguay on Monday (4). The move comes after a scandal involving the agencyâs leadership and the wife of Uruguayan drug dealer SebastiĂĄn Marset.
Gianina GarcĂa Troche, who is also wanted by the Paraguayan justice system for international trafficking, money laundering, and other crimes, was included in the âRed Notice,â also known as the âRed Diffusion,â a list that gathers the most wanted individuals from each country.
However, Paraguayan police officers stationed at Interpol changed the data in the system and removed the âred codeâ classification that existed in her criminal record, allowing Gianina to freely move around the country.
