VIRGINIA (LOUDOUN COUNTY): nearly $900K in marijuana recovered by Loudoun Co. Sheriff’s Office, DEA

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, a total of 155 separately packaged bricks of marijuana, each weighing 1.2 pounds, were found and seized by police during a routine traffic stop of the driver of a rental truck near Old Ox Road and Route 267 Monday morning.Police said the packaged marijuana was picked up by the driver, identified as 54-year-old Bryant W. Denison, before the traffic stop after it was transported to Loudoun County via a cargo transportation company.

Denison was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Police said Denison remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond. Additional charges are pending.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said this is the second significant drug seizure in Loudoun County in 2015. In April, a three-month-long investigation led to the collection of 2.5 pounds of cocaine, one kilo of cocaine, 5 ounces of crack cocaine, 1.5 ounces of heroin, 6 pounds of marijuana, 5 ounces of PCP, 429 ecstasy pills, prescription pills, $60,000 in cash and other drug-related items. Police said three men were arrested in the case.
