1st Penal Chamber presiding judge Eduardo Sanchez also separated codefendant Alain Marc Paul Castany from the case on a defense motion arguing health issues.

The court also appointed a court interpreter to assist Nicolas Pisapia, also charged with drug trafficking in the confiscation of over 700 kilos of cocaine seized in a Falcon jet headed to Saint-Tropez in March, 2013.

Pisapia and Castany remain in the Dominican Republic, where their next hearing was set for March 14.
