More than €200,000 in cash that the Kinahan gang were trying to launder has been seized by gardai.

The money, which consisted of at least 10 bundles of €50, €20 and €10 notes, was being processed by a west Dublin drugs gang working for the crime cartel.

The international mob was dealt a major blow at the weekend when officers from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (DOCB) and the newly set up Special Crime Task Force searched a car on Fonthill Road, Liffey Valley.
