IRAN đŸ‡źđŸ‡· (Tehran): the police forces of the Sistan and Baluchestan province have seized over one ton of opium in Iranshahr county in the southeastern province of Iran

The Police Chief of Sistan and Baluchistan Province Second Brigadier General Ahmad Taheri said on Tuesday that following the intelligence activities of the police forces of Iranshahr County, a drug-trafficking band who were planning to transfer a large consignment of illicit drugs to the center of the country have been identified.

Five smugglers have been arrested in this regard, he said, adding that the police forces seized 1.226 ton of opium in addition to confiscation of some weapons and ammunition.
