« Ne remettez pas en question ma politique, car je ne m’excuserai pas. J’ai fait ce que j’avais à faire, je l’ai fait pour mon pays. » C’est ainsi que Rodrigo Duterte a défendu sa campagne anti-drogue. « Je déteste la drogue, ne vous y trompez pas », a-t-il ajouté.

Cette campagne qui aurait fait au moins 6 000 morts, selon les données philippines, et entre 12 000 et 30 000 morts selon les estimations des procureurs de la Cour pénale internationale (CPI).

Car la CPI a également ouvert une enquête sur cette campagne meurtrière susceptible de constituer un crime contre l’humanité.

USA 🇺🇲 (Southern District of New York) : large-scale Iranian heroin trafficker sentenced to 20 Years in prison

Damian Williams, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that MALEK BALOUCHZEHI, a/k/a “Malek Khan,” was sentenced to 20 years in prison for conspiring to import heroin into the United States and distributing heroin for importation into the United States.

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said: “Malek Balouchzehi was in the business of peddling poison. His drug trafficking operations had already brought large-scale quantities of deadly narcotics around the world for at least a decade, but when he sought to expand his operation to the United States, our law enforcement allies, in partnership with the career prosecutors of this Office, swiftly put an end to his life-endangering trade.”

BALOUCHZEHI was convicted after a one-week jury trial in May 2023 before U.S. District Judge Jesse M. Furman, who imposed today’s sentence.

AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺: Criminal couple linked to one of Australia’s biggest drug busts hit with lengthy jail terms

If you wanted to move something from point A to point B, Nasser Abo Abdo was the person to call.

With a wealth of experience in electronics and the import-export industry, he became a go-between for gangs wanting to shift illegal drugs between North America and Australia. 

His role was so important, he was nicknamed ‘The Engine’ and ‘The Mechanic’.

On Friday, Abo Abdo was jailed for 21 years over one of the biggest drug plots ever foiled by Australian police. His partner Leonor Fajardo was sentenced to 14 years behind bars.

The County Court of Victoria heard the US citizens travelled to Australia in 2017 to start a business importing car audio parts. 

An undercover agent replaced a scheduled shipment of drugs with fake substances before they were sent. (ABC News: Che Chorley)

A year later, they were in the thick of a plan to hide 1,293 kilograms of pure methamphetamine and 16kg of pure cocaine within three shipping containers, which were to be sent from Los Angeles to Melbourne.
