ESTHERVILLE, IOWA – An Estherville, Iowa, police officer is being honored by the United States Attorney’s Offices for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for his commitment to reducing drug abuse. The recipient of the Enrique S. Camarena Award is Captain Nathaniel Dunlavy of the Estherville Police Department.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A Cuba, Missouri, man has been sentenced in federal court for methamphetamine trafficking following a high-speed police chase.
Shannon L. Brim, 33, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Roseann Ketchmark on Monday, Jan. 25, to 14 years in federal prison without parole.
On Sept. 20, 2020, Brim pleaded guilty to one count of possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

Honig announced a Passaic County, New Jersey, man today admitted conspiring to distribute heroin and to distributing a quantity of heroin.

ST. LOUIS – U.S. District Judge Ronnie L. White sentenced LeVaughn Neal to 156 months in prison today. The 36-year-old St. Louis, Missouri, resident pleaded guilty in October to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Three Colombian nationals pleaded guilty today to possessing with the intent to distribute nearly 1,500 kilograms of cocaine when they were interdicted in an unregistered vessel on the Pacific Ocean.

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. – The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Steven D. Weinhoeft, announced today that seven alleged members of the violent Gangster Disciples gang, including top national and state leaders, have been charged in a federal indictment accusing them of a years-long interstate racketeering conspiracy involving multiple murders, drug trafficking, and other crimes. Certain defendants were also charged with murder, attempted murder, and various firearms crimes.

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Mark Mongillo, 31, of Unadilla, New York, appeared in federal court today on a criminal complaint charging him with methamphetamine distribution charges and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, announced Acting United States Attorney Antoinette T. WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Armando Arizmendi-Garcia, 24, Bianey Gonzalez-Arizmendi, 28, and Oscar Daniel Martinez-Nunez, 21, have been charged with conspiring to distribute over 30 pounds of crystal methamphetamine. The three defendants are Mexican nationals. Two of the defendants made their initial appearances today in federal magistrate court in West Palm Beach. The third defendant made his initial appearance on Friday, January 22, before a federal magistrate judge in Wisconsin, where he was arrested.

PROVIDENCE, RI – A Dominican national that led a conspiracy that imported at least ten kilograms of heroin and five kilograms of cocaine from California, and who conspired with others to work at his direction to store, process, and package the drugs in an apartment he rented in West Warwick to be used as a stash house, has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Jade Hooks, 22, of Buffalo, NY, was arrested and charged by criminal complaint with possessing with intent to distribute fentanyl and crack cocaine, announced United States Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr., Western District of New York and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent in Charge Ray Donovan, New York Division. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine.
