INDIA: BSF (Border Security Force) seizes narcotics close to Indo-Bangladesh border

bsf_emblem-svgKOLKATA: The Border Security Force (BSF) seized 63 kg of Marijuana (Ganja) from a house close to the Indo-Bangladesh border in the Nadia district of West Bengal on Sunday. The owner of the house managed to flee before the raid. A case has been resgistered against him at the Hogalberia police station.

BSF: The Border Security Force (BSF) (Hindi: सीमा सुरक्षा बल) is the primary Border guarding force of India. It is one of the five Central Armed Police Forces of the Union of India, it was raised in the wake of the 1965 War on 1 December 1965, « for ensuring the security of the borders of India and for matters connected there with ». It is a Central Armed Police Force charged with guarding India’s land border during peacetime and preventing transnational crime.
