Âgé de 56 ans et surnommé « Brendo », Evelin Banev a été interpellé en septembre 2021 « dans la région de Kiev ».

Le modus operandi de ce réseau criminel consiste à évider les planches pour y dissimuler les savonnettes de cannabis, tout en procédant à leur ré-assemblage en les enduisant de produits chimiques pour éviter leur détection par la police cynotechnique.
Selon les premières estimations, la quantité des drogues saisies dans cet atelier serait de 2.1 tonnes de chira, alors que les opérations d’extraction des drogues depuis les planches de bois se poursuivent.

Agentes de la Guardia Civil y funcionarios del Servicio de Vigilancia Aduanera han intervenido un alijo de 464 kilos de cocaína que estaban perfectamente camuflados en una máquina trituradora de once toneladas que llegó al puerto de València desde Colombia y cuyo destino declarado era una empresa metalúrgica domiciliada en Tres Cantos (Madrid). La mercancía entró por el puerto de València el pasado día 13 de enero, y los cilindros fueron examinados en cumplimiento de una orden de entrega controlada de la Fiscalía, tras llevarlos a un almacén.
